Microsoft New Commerce Experience

Introduction to New Commerce Experience (NCE)

The world today is changing constantly at an unprecedented rate. With the rapid changes in how people do business and governments set regulations, its crucial to keep improving offers, security, compliance, and operational excellency.

Microsoft, as well as their partner ecosystem, recognize this need to innovate and develop. As a part of that continuous development, Microsoft set out on a transformational journey almost two years ago – and thus came new commerce experience, or NCE. This platform comes after almost a decade of successful run of their Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program. NCE aims to:

  • Provide customers greater choice and flexibility in how and where they purchase services.
  • Provide partners with more selling opportunitiesto a growing base of customers, by making the partner ecosystem more robust, transparent, and secure.
  • Introduce features and policies that accelerate the success of both partners and customers.

  • Commitment terms are fixed after the 7-day cancellation window. Your customer will be obliged to pay throughout this term. This is in alignment with industry standards worldwide.
  • Within the first 7 days after the provisioning or renewal, you can cancel your subscription or downgrade the license.
  • Fixed commitment terms won’t affect businesses in a big way – only a very small number of customers end up changing partners during a 12-month period. Most of the customers in CSP channel are long lasting.

Increased flexibility through automation and scheduling changes

With NCE, partners can manage licenses and renew subscriptions with ease. As a partner, you can:

  • Convert trial subscriptions automatically
  • Schedule changes to a subscription upon renewal
  • Upgrade subscription or assign more licenses at any point during the term

Simplified billing and add-on purchasing

Microsoft is striving to streamline purchasing experiences for you and your end customers with NCE:

  • Mix and match different commitment terms and billing types (frequency) for the same plan
  • Provide consistent offers onservicesto your end customers, irrespective of their purchasing channel
  • Get better control over pricing and discountsthrough automated price adjustment (including a validation of promotion eligibility)
  • Get add-on subscriptions without depending on base-offer transactions
